A world first, Harlequin is proud to launch the first ever school Library bag and Excursion Bag to be made from 100% PET recycled fabric.

As our business was born with our now famous Harlequin Library bags, we thought it only fitting that our Original Library Bag should have the honour of launching Australia’s first eco conscious School Bag.

We will continue to always build our bags extremely tough so that they last for your child’s school life. This is why we are proud to offer up to a 15 year warranty on all our school bags. If your child only ever needs one Harlequin bag, then you will be helping the environment by saving the resources and materials needed for manufacturing.

We always practise what we preach and believe that it is our responsibility to teach our kids just what the environment means to us and how we can look after our planet.

So remember, when you start using your new Eco Library Bag™ and Excursion Bag... they used to be a plastic bottle!

Harlequin's 100% compostable and biodegradable packaging has arrived!  We are very proud and excited to be the first non-public company in Australia to invest in this totally environmentally friendly packaging.

What is our compostable bag made from?

It's made from corn starch and is compostable, biodegradable and non-toxic.

What standards does it meet?

It is fully compliant with Australian Standard AS 4736-2006.

Where is the best place to dispose of this bag?

This bag is compostable at some kerbside greenwaste recycling facilities. Please check with your local council.

How quickly will the bag break down?

Impressively, it will start to break down within 7 days and be completely broken down within 45 days under the conditions set out in the Australian Standards.
